bindro vs Eventbrite for independent movement teachers: the short answer

Eventbrite is a general event ticketing marketplace with real discovery reach; bindro is configured for classes specifically. Eventbrite is the better shot at strangers finding a one-off workshop. Bindro is the better fit for a weekly timetable, because it knows what a class pack, a waiver and a term of Tuesdays are.

Where is Eventbrite stronger?

Eventbrite has a marketplace, and that is not a small thing: people browse it, search engines trust it, and a one-off workshop can genuinely find an audience there that no link of yours would reach. Attendees recognise the brand and the checkout, which removes a hesitation bindro has to earn. For discovery of a standalone event, it is the stronger tool and we would use it too.

Where does bindro fit instead?

Bindro fits the recurring timetable rather than the one-off. Generate a term of classes from a cadence in one go, sell prepaid packs whose credits are real liability, take the physical-activity waiver once per student and carry it across their later bookings, and take the register in a hall with no signal. It is a class product rather than a ticketing product pointed at classes.

How do they compare line by line?

For a teacherbindroEventbrite
Discovery None — you bring the students, via your own link, share card and hosted page.A large public marketplace with real search traffic. Their main advantage.
Cost shape 2.5% + $0.99 per paid place, nothing monthly, free classes free.Per-ticket fees on paid tickets; check their current pricing.
Class packs Prepaid credits on a liability account, spent one credit per place. Not a class-pack product; passes are not the model.
A term of weekly classes Generated from a cadence in one transaction, each session with its own places.Recurring events are supported; check how their current version handles a term.
Waivers Signed at the first booking with you, carried forward after it, one record per order either way.Custom questions exist; a signed waiver record is not the product's purpose.
Injuries and health data Declared health-class: yours in the student export, out of AI and analytics, anonymised early.Check their current data handling for custom question responses.
Register with no signal Offline by requirement, name-list first, syncs when signal returns. They provide an organiser check-in app; verify offline behaviour yourself.
When the money arrives Two days after the class ends, never before delivery.Check their current payout schedule and eligibility rules.

What are we not certain about?

Everything on our side of the table is something the platform declares and the gates check. Everything on theirs is either publicly uncontroversial or listed here.

  • We publish no Eventbrite fee figure. Their fee structure varies by country, ticket price and plan — check their current pricing rather than a number from a blog post.
  • Discovery is a genuine reason to choose them and we are not going to argue you out of it. Several teachers sensibly use a marketplace for one-off workshops and something like bindro for the weekly timetable.
  • Statements about their features describe a general-purpose ticketing product, not a feature-by-feature audit of their current release.

What does bindro NOT do for a teacher?

Published rather than discovered later. A capability this vertical does not declare is refused by the engine, not quietly missing.

  • Monthly memberships and recurring billing — subscription billing is optional for teachers and is not resolved. Payouts settle per delivered class, so a membership charge would credit a balance the payout engine could never release. Subscription appears in this vertical's pricing models and is deliberately not sold.
  • Signing the waiver once and never again, anywhere — a signature carries forward within ONE teacher's bookings, for the same email address and the same wording, while the acceptance is still retained. A different teacher, a different address or a reworded waiver presents the box again, and the first booking always does.
  • Moving a student to a different date — deferral is not a capability this vertical declares. A student who cannot make it refunds and rebooks; there is no "move my place" button.
  • Handing a place to a friend — ticket transfer is optional for teachers and is not turned on, so a direct call is refused rather than silently ignored.
  • Gift vouchers — gift cards are optional here and not resolved. A class pack is the only prepaid product a teacher can sell.
  • Taking a card at the door — door POS is optional for teachers and is not turned on. A walk-in books on their phone through the same checkout, or the teacher records the place and the cash from the back office.
  • Selling mats, props or merchandise alongside a place — add-ons are optional for teachers and not resolved.
  • Teaching under-18s — minor consent is not declared for this vertical, so there is no guardian countersign and no under-18 gate on the money path. These classes are configured for adults.
  • Verified member pricing — nothing checks a student against a membership roster here, so a "members pay less" tier cannot be enforced. Sliding scale is the mechanism teachers use instead.
  • Instalments, invoices and purchase orders — not declared for teachers; a place is paid for in full at checkout or with a pack credit.
  • Collecting documents — there is no file upload here, so insurance certificates and teaching qualifications stay wherever they live now.
  • Being your studio management system — bindro sells places, takes the register and pays you. It does not run a room rota, staff payroll, a video library or a branded student app.
